Available Alerts
- Low Alert Triggers when blood glucose is less than or equal to your set value.
- High Alert Triggers when blood glucose is greater than or equal to your set value.
- No Data Alert Triggers when SugarPixel has not received a new glucose reading within the selected number of minutes.
Snoozing Basics
SugarPixel uses a single top button for snoozing.- Press the button once while an alert is active to snooze it
- Each alert can have its own snooze duration
- If the condition still exists after the snooze period, the alert will trigger again
Test Alert Button
Each alert includes a Test button to verify alert behavior.- Tests audio, vibration, visual, and ascending alerts
- Tests automatically stop after a few seconds
- Tests respect Quiet Hours and current Snoozes
- If you don’t hear the test, verify time zone, quiet hour settings, and currently snoozed alerts (under Remote Snooze menu)
- Ascending alert tests compress each “minute” into a few seconds
We strongly recommend testing alerts weekly to confirm audio and vibration hardware are functioning properly.
Ascending Alerts
Ascending Alerts
When Ascending Alerts are enabled:
- Audio and vibration are forced on
- Other alert options are fixed (except audio type)
- Alerts increase in intensity each minute until snoozed:
- Vibration only
- Vibration + low audio
- Vibration + medium audio
- Vibration + high audio
Audio Alerts
Audio Alerts
Audio Type
Repeated alerts can cause habituation, where the brain becomes less responsive over time — especially during sleep.- Random (recommended): Uses randomly generated tones, durations, and vibration patterns so each alert feels different.
- Standard: Uses a consistent alert sound.
Volume
SugarPixel does not have a physical volume control. Volume is set only in the app.During setup:- Test low, medium, and high volume levels individually with the Test Alert button
- Choose the level that best meets your needs
Vibration Alerts
Vibration Alerts
The vibration puck is designed for:
- Deaf or hard-of-hearing users
- Heavy sleepers
- Situations where audio alerts are undesirable
Visual Alerts
Visual Alerts
When enabled, visual alerts flash the display between:
- Your normal screen
- An inverted screen showing the color-coded glucose value
Auto Snooze
Auto Snooze
Auto Snooze automatically applies the snooze function after an alert has been active for a set amount of time. This is useful if:
- You forget to disable alerts
- You are away from SugarPixel when an alert triggers
